No I wasn’t trying to sound like your grandpa! I was trying to be cool. Anyway… I should stop. I’m only going to embarrass myself further.
I probably shouldn’t be picking favourites but OMG! THIS IS MY FAVOURITE! I love the white with the navy, with the denim and the tan leather shoes. #LIVIN Also not too sure if ponchos are in, but I’m diggin’ this one!
And I think we can all agree this is not going to take more than 1.5 minutes to throw on!
Outfit No. 2:
Bright, multi-coloured, and so much happening dress! Because it’s all you need to throw on and you’re ready to strut out the door. Don’t forget your shoes though!
I’m a huge fan of dresses in the summer time. Their light, their breezy and even though it’s the easiest thing you could ever wear, it looks like you’ve put in quite the effort. Also! Get yourself some tan leather / faux leather shoes – they are literally the best!
Outfit No. 3:
Surprise! Surprise! Another dress. For those of you who know me, this is literally my uniform! It doesn’t need ironing and it has sleeves so if your underarms are pokey you’re covered girl! Sorry if that was a bit TMI for you. Also it’s cotton and perfect for summer. I love paring it with bright and fun sneakers for a pop of colour!
Hahahaha… Bottom line of this blog post – STOCK UP ON DRESSES! Or shorts and loose, flowey… flowy flow-ey (clearly I don’t know the spelling) tops.
More importantly tell me what kind of outfits you’re going to slay this summer!
It’s that time of year again and I couldn’t be happier! That time where in we train ourselves to think it’s cold enough for long sleeves, turtle necks and fuzzy socks but in reality we have to stick to shorts and tees. That time where we finally know what to do with the maple leave garlands that aunty bought from Canada! And that time when we wait for Starbucks to bring out the Pumpkin Spice Latte because nothing else about Mumbai is anywhere near FALL or Halloween!
I think it’s high time we change what’s the norm and do what we want! What I want is Trick-or-Treating all over , everywhere! But in reality I’m for one TOO OLD and secondly this idea is a crime just waiting to happen! But we can still have dress up parties with friends, family, your dog, your cat, yourself! Who cares? As long as your Instagram is On Fleek 👻. Right???
So here are a couple of outfit ideas that I’ve come up with. Let me know which one is your favourite in the comment section! Nothing too OTT. Their both subtle enough, yet super cool! If I may say so myself.
The only major parts of the outfit were the horns and her staff.
For the horns all you need to do is:
Mould the horn shape with aluminium foil. Make sure both your horns look about the same shape and size.
Cover them with tissue paper dipped in water and glue (fevicol). Aka. Paper mashe around both horns.
Paint them in a dark dirty, almost black brown colour.
Lastly, attach them to either a headband or some barrettes with black electrical tape.
For her staff, all you need to do is:
Paint a wooden dowel black.
Stick on a Christmas bauble to the tip of it with some hot glue. I went for a golden bauble.
Partially cover the bauble with some leaves painted black.
For added detail, you can replicate vines with a hot glue gun.
I know this may seem a bit time consuming, but if you have the time. It’s a great costume idea! And with everyone being Harley Quinn this year, you’ll definitely stand out! 😉
Pair the props with a black dress and you’re good to go!
This is a total last minute costume idea. You can practically throw this together on the 31st itself!
All you need is a black and white striped tee and some black pants. If you have black and white striped pants too, then all the better. But I didn’t.
For the props:
A chef hat
A laundry bag (optional)
A black mask (optional)
All you need to do to the chef hat is paint stripes on it. My cap was black, so I painted white stripes.
To the laundry bag, draw/ paint on a dollar sign and carry it around. So it looks as though you’ve robbed a bank.
If you have a black eye mask, it would be perfect. I didn’t have one, so I decided to go down the bruised route. With some black and blue eyeshadow , I bruised up my under eye area.
And tada! Those were my two last minute costume ideas!
Welcome! Or welcome back 😀 I think this one is hands down one of my favourite posts. Firstly, I absolutely love Fashion! Also, I not only got to do a freaking low key shoot but I’m super excited for you’ll to see how I’ve styled my favourite pair of jeans! Good Times Guys! Good Times!
I’m totally aware that to some of you the jeans might me a bit too OUT THERE, but then again, you’re not going to actually be wearing the same pair of jeans. This is just for some Style Inspo and hopefully will get you out of a fix on, ‘What can I wear with this?’.
OUTFIT 1: Comfy Casual!
(Top: Zara; Jeans: Zara (over 3 years old); Bag: Vietnam; Shoes: Vietnam)
This first outfit is my everyday GO-TO look. I don’t know about you, but I love the huge rips in the jeans. Yes, the ‘Hobo Chic Look’. Now in all honesty this pair of jeans can be paired with practically any top but a plain white Tee and Blue denim is just my favourite combination!
Tip: If your top is a wee bit too long and you’re just not happy with the look, try tucking in a small portion of it. It makes all the difference!
This is a perfect look in the summer as well if for some reason you can’t wear shorts (you know the struggle of having to wax for shorts girls!). The jeans keep you super breezy and cool, but still cover the most part of your legs that you intend to keep hidden.
OUTFIT 2: Sunday Brunch!
(Top: Forever 21)
This next look has instantly taken a girly turn but still very true to Street Style. All I’ve done is switched out the basic tee to a very feminine top and it instantly changes the occasion I would wear it to. I think it would be perfect for a Sunday Brunch which is why – The Title! LOL. Of course, that’s just my opinion. You could wear this anywhere you want to.
Tip: If you’re on-the-go and you need to change from a casual to a more dressy look, just change tops and accessories!
I threw on some glittery ballerinas and a floppy hat and it’s now so girly-esk! Loving this look. If you’re a heels kind of girl, this would look super cute in some tan or brown wedges!
This third and final outfit is (I would say) is a night time look. Ofcourse you don’t want to be carrying anything big and what more than your phone and money could you possibly need? So this phone case that doubles as a mini wallet is perfect. They didn’t have the same one I have so I linked something similar and in my opinion cuter!
Tip: To change any outfit from a daytime look to a nighttime one, all you got to do is throw in some black.
If its a tube top – even more apt for drinks out or even a house party. As for the shoes, as you can see I’ve just gone for some plain black basic ballerinas. But something that will instantly elevate the look a lot more are some nude pointy toe heels.
And that’s all for today. I tried to link all the items that I wore that were still available on the sites. Even though that’s only two, I think all the items are pretty basic and similar items can easily be found in case you want to purchase them.
A huge to Thank You to the best photographer I know, Andre Fernandes for the pictures and for all the madness that went into the shoot. And by madness I mean climbing up on construction poles to get that top shot! You’re an absolute delight to work with.
I hope you liked the post 🙂 Make sure to LIKE, FOLLOW, SHARE and COMMENT. Also let me know which of the three outfits was your fav, I’m dying to know. Love you all lots!!!
This is something completely different, well it is fashion related (I guess). But it’s an observational post. I love going shopping whether it’s actually to buy something (which is preferable) or even if it’s just to browse. I’ve observed different people and their behaviour. So I thought it would be fun to do a blog post on it. Let me know in the comments what type of a shopper are you? Even if you’re not one from the list ☺️.
Now we all know July – August is THE month for sales. Everywhere you look is a 50-70% Off sign. And me being the clothing addict that I am has to go check them out. There’s no place I’d rather spend my time at than – THE MALL. I joke that it’s my natural habitat. But we all know that it isn’t much of a joke. If there’s any place I’ve observed a lot at its here. There are so many different kinds of shoppers. Some of the most common ones are… 1. The “trend setters” they’ll never buy clothing, shoes or accessories on sale. Only because they don’t ever want to be caught dead in something that’s last season.
2. The “window shopper” and let’s be real – we all come under this category a lot of the times! Those who love to check out what’s in stock. Those who know exactly what top is from where or what brand of shoes those are, but they never actually purchase the item.
3. The “blind shopper”. I hope to someday reach this level. They never ever look at the price tags! They never look to see if the item is on sale or if it’s amongst the new collection – they like it, they buy it.
4. The “pushy mum”. We all secretly wish our mums were like this, but not everyone is lucky enough! These are the super rich mums who love to spoil their kids rotten. Those who want to keep buying clothes, shoes, bags, socks you name it for their child. So much so that the child themself tells her they don’t need all that.
5. Then there’s the opposite kind of mum, the “think a hundred times before you buy” kind. Do they really need it? How long will they use it for? Is it worth the price? Will I get it somewhere else at a better rate? The questions go on. And the funniest part is they’ll calculate the price of the item and consider how long will they use it for. In this way, they’ll end up getting the exact amount for it per day. Ridiculous- I know! But you got to do what you got to do when you’re on a budget!
To be honest there are a ton more of these “Types of Shoppers” but I don’t want this post getting stretched out too much.
On to the ones we’re focusing on … “The SALE Shenanigans” those who don’t shop all year round just to save all their money to shop during the sales. These people or just a lot of people in general who pass by a store they would usually never enter, but if they read “upto 60% OFF” they’ll walk right in without a second thought. It’s mostly girls dragging their boyfriends into the stores and children dragging parents. But ofcourse wives taking their husbands and middle aged women by themselves, not to forget the minority of males too! I mean…. I’m just wondering wouldn’t you save a lot more money if you shopped when you actually needed something irrespective if there’s a sale or not? In that way you would only end up buying the item you actually need. Whereas during a sale everything seems so much cheaper so you end up buying the items having the best deals which very often isn’t what you need at all. Then a few months later you realise you haven’t bought what you went for and have to go back and buy that item at full price.
I guess that ending made it seem like I’m all against sales , but the truth is I’m one of those suckers who can’t help but shop during the sales. I don’t know about you but I hate that feeling of buying something full price and then a few weeks later the price goes down by half! It’s the most annoying thing ever. The other side to the coin is obviously why pay Rs. 3000/- when you can get it for Rs. 1500/- ??? Like everything, there’s always a positive, there’s always a negative. I just thoroughly enjoyed watching all the different kinds of shoppers and their spending habits. It was both hilarious and ofcourse a great blog topic to write about!
If you liked this post, be sure to let me know in the comments or by liking it. Do share it with anyone you know that is like one of the shoppers mentioned. I hope you can relate 😜 and chao for now.
Hello there! I hope you’re having a lovely day. I personally love watching Lookbook videos and am just very inquisitive in general about what people are wearing. Plus, I thought this would be a nice and fun break from the first two travel blog posts before I post the next two. Happy Reading! 😀
I absolutely love looking at these kinds of posts and watching these kinds of videos because even though the outfit combinations may sometimes be very basic it often reminds of something lying in my closet that I haven’t worn in a while and have probably forgotten about. So it gets me digging through all my old and forgotten clothes and makes me so excited to wear them all over again. It also gives me insight on different ways of styling a particular piece, different colour combinations that I would’ve never thought go together, even mixing patterns which is so popular these days (side note: I haven’t ventured into that zone yet) and also completely falling in love with a look so much that I just have to go out and buy it!
So for this first look I paired these Navy Blue shorts from Marks & Spencer with this Maroon and White striped crop top from Forever 21. Very simple and comfy but I think just because the shorts are high waisted and it is a crop top and not just a regular length tee it makes the look a lot more classy. And of course the ballerinas give it that girly touch. Throw on some sunglasses and you’re done!
This second outfit is so bright and summery, I love it! In fact, this is one of my favourite tees. My boyfriend gifted it to me from his US trip, It says “LOVE 365”. I think this is perfect for the summer time as it’s a super thin and soft material and the colour is just gorgeous! As for the bottoms, you just can’t go wrong with some classic denim shorts.
This next look again has my classic denim shorts because their so versatile, they just go with any and everything. I paired it this time with a more fitting t-shirt so it looks a bit more dressed-up. Also second day hair calls for a cap! And this polka dot one is so cute and just ties the whole look together.
I couldn’t go on holiday and not wear my favourite colour! Even though its summer time, I think you can get away with a black crop top. I mean… It is cropped after all! The material was super thin and soft as well so I wasn’t sweating like crazy. Oooh! And I think the cap looks super cute with this whole look. What you think?
I don’t think this outfit needs a long description. I kept it simple and classy. Blue jeans with a plain white basic tee. However, I’m not about that basic life so I did cut the bottom off my t-shirt just a bit to give it that distressed look. And I love it! I’m sorry you cant really see the whole look properly, but this happened to be the only picture I had with this outfit! 😦 Apologies!
This simple skater dress is my GO-TO for the summer time! Its super flattering and the tiny flowers on it scream summer to me, don’t you think? And since it’s black, you can get away with wearing it for a night out as well. A total wardrobe staple I would say.
And lastly is this bright blue tee. Even though it’s not a full length picture, I couldn’t help but include it. This fun colour is perfect for the day out, you can pair it with some denim shorts/ jeans, white bottoms or even dusty pink or orange bottoms would look super cute with this colour, I think 🙂 .
Disclaimer: Since I’m on holiday and my boyfriend kindly took a few pictures of me, they are completely natural (this is actually what I wore on the day) and not some outfits I’ve thrown together to show you guys. Which is also the reason why I’ve repeated the denim shorts in so many of the looks. I have zero makeup on and the looks are all very casual and laid back – Perfect for the summer time and when you go on vacation or even for everyday!
I hope you liked these outfits and / or reading this post in general. If you did make sure to follow me to be notified each time I upload a new post (: I love you all lots. Thanks for sticking till the end.
Happy New Year!!! As you’ll can probably tell by this post – I LOVE BLACK!
I’m not usually one to wear any hair accessories. In fact this is the first time I’ve actually left my house with any attachment on my hair. But after this I will definitely be wearing more of these.
I think a bow or maybe a flower (depending on your preference) is ideal for second day hair, i.e the day after you’ve washed it. So the area near your scalp is a bit oily, but the tips still look fab. All you have to do is pin up the top and you’re good to go!
Rings have been my obsession since I was in school! I’ve always loved having my nails painted in a super dark shade, with at least one ring on my finger. Through the years my taste in rings has been evolving from the chunky statement rings to cute dainty ones and now I love just stacking all the possible rings I own (the dainty ones of course).
Here’s what I’ve put together. I hope you like it. The plain thin gold rings are from Forever 21. A pack of about ten of them were for a hundred and something, so that was a total steal! And the gold winged ring is from Accessorize which was a bit pricey, but I got it as a Valentines day gift from my boyfriend.
And that is pretty much all the accessories I wore on my night out. I paired these with a plain black dress which was also from Forever 21 and some black stockings to keep warm.
I hope you enjoyed reading this post and if you’re one of those people who are afraid of wearing ‘ALL BLACK’, I genuinely hope I changed your mind. Let me know whats your favourite colour.
