Freewill On Fleek? Click to find out ✨

Heyyy!

How’s the weather treating you? Finally the rains are behind us (I hope) which means better hair days for all us girls, guys, dogs, heck even horses! lol 😅😜.

Anyway… to make sure of them good hair days regardless of the weather I decided to give freewill a shot. If you don’t know what I’m on about, freewill is basically a personalised hair care brand. It’s available online and what you have to do is fill in all your hair routine details. They ask you stuff like how much time do you spend in the sun, what’s your workout routine like, the basics like – your hair texture, is your scalp oily or dry etc.

I absolutely loved the concept of a shampoo personalised especially for me, so of course I ordered it and here we are about what I think of it!

In short – definitely a yes!

Not going to lie, it isn’t the best shampoo I’ve used but it does feel really good! My hair feels much much softer, my scalp does feel a lot cleaner / a lot fresher, also I’m flipping obsessed with the smell and packaging!

I think it’s a great gift option for your friend whose hair you know everything about! Or for your mum – I just love that the bottles come with your name on it. Feels so special ✨💁🏻‍♀️.

It is slightly on the pricy side I guess but worth the money I would say. And if it’s actually sulfate, paraben, phthalate and formaldehyde free like they say then👌🏻💯🙌🏻.

Do you really NEED this in your life? Nope but then again, do you really need any of the things you buy? If you’re into experimenting with new cool stuff, this is for sure something you should try out !

The Perfect Getaway!

What are you up to these hot summer days?

I just traveled to an even hotter destination than the one I’m currently in. But it was every bit worth it. Now I know Kerala is known to be God’s own country but literally it is! Err ma gawd it’s breathtakingly beautiful. I’m just so blessed to have even gotten this opportunity, much thanks to Shanice. You probably know her from My Birthday Blog ! post. You know… my soul sister but now I feel like the trophy sister, haahahaha.

Anyway… get yourself some popcorn or chips, a coke, a juice – whatever you like. This is going to be a long one! (Also … Question of the day – do any of you call snakes ‘long ones’ ? PLEASE LET ME KNOW!)

Right from the time Shanice told me about this trip till I reached the hotel, I had absolutely no clue of what to expect. I just knew, I was going to Kerala and staying at the Taj. So I knew it would be great but I mean… This was next level. As we pulled into the property, we were greeted with chilled coconut water and a scenery that could take your breath away.

PSX_20190412_125033PSX_20190412_125251PSX_20190412_130029

We were then escorted to our rooms, actually… scratch that. We were then escorted to our gorgeous little house with a front porch and a pond! I’m just sad I didn’t get a picture of the bathroom area for you guys. It was pretty though. Right next to the shower was an outdoorsy type area covered in pebbles.

PSX_20190412_132852PSX_20190412_133202

I’m absolutely in love with this place. It’s the most peaceful, calm, serene getaway location ever. You’ll hear the sound of birds throughout your stay as they share borders with a bird sanctuary. Also no matter what time of year you visit, there’ll be something to do. From pottery to cycle tours or just a ride around the property, boating in their private pond. Or a boat ride into the backwaters, rappelling, swimming you name it!

I fell in love even with the tea time snacks. I kid you not, after eating this banana fritter I ate at least about 5 more throughout my stay in Kerala.

PSX_20190412_170752
I’m in love with this!
PSX_20190412_170845
Best tea time snacks ever. With a cup of filter coffee – Yaaaas!
PSX_20190412_171043
Some tea time trivia for you.

So tea time starts at 4:00pm and ends at 5:00pm followed by a boat ride. I was obsessed with taking pictures everywhere! In fact, before coming to Kerala, I randomly messaged Shanice saying I want a yellow wall to take pictures in front of! To which she said, oh don’t worry… You’ll find plenty in Kerala. Girl! Was she right. And my favourite was this tiny storage unit right where Chayakada was served. So you can only guess how we passed our time. Besides the chats we never seem to run out of, lol!

PSX_20190412_175915PSX_20190412_174058PSX_20190412_173357PSX_20190412_173954PSX_20190412_173717PSX_20190412_173606PSX_20190412_173119

Straight out of a story book, or what? And not only the place and the pictures. The people are so lovely. Everyone! Just such kind, genuine, helpful, chatty people. The Helmsman (if I can call him that) offered to take our pictures – he also asked us to move about to get the perfect shot! Hahaaha… it was the cutest thing. The guide with us from the hotel was telling us about the floods and how the water was up to their waist at the Taj. Everyone was relocated to their Kochi property. He was telling us to go for a walk at 6:00am to the bird sanctuary next door to which we were slightly apprehensive. Then he was like this is not Mumbai or Delhi, Kerala is very safe.

After that extremely relaxing boat trip, we went for an early dinner, while live folk music was playing. Then stayed for a couple minutes to watch the folk dancer before we called it a night.

I would totally recommend staying at the Taj Kumarakom for a special occasion or even just a relaxing getaway. Although a little more on the pricey side depending on what you want, I felt that they really got everything SO right. They were extremely accommodating and their customer service and attention to detail was spot on. They made our special stay feel so special and everybody was friendly and very helpful.

I think that’s enough for one blog post, I’ll do day 2 in another. Hope you enjoyed reading this. Do share it with your friends or family planning a trip and make sure to give it a like.

NEW HAIR + 5 SECOND HAIRSTYLES

Fleekies! What’s up?

Hope you’re having a good hair day just like me. Because that’s what inspired me to write this post. Approximately one month after actually getting my hair done. Ugh! I’m such a waste.

Nevertheless, hope you like it.

First, let’s talk cut, colour, destination, stylist.

I don’t know about you but I think this is the work of a genius. And I’m so so so lucky that this genius is also my friend. And no bias (kinda) but he is also one of the nicest human beings I know. Genuinely.

You know… The kinda hairstylist that inspires quotes like, “Friends come and go but a good hairstylist is forever.” or “Behind every beautiful woman is her hairdresser.” or “Hairgicians. People who create magic for clients without a wand.” … This can literally go on forever.

He is Loic Chapoix . Art Director at Dessange Bandra . So if you’re thinking of getting a few inches chopped off or going from a black head to a brunette, you know the guy!

story_1553765710904

In case you want to know about my hair, he didn’t cut much of the length. Just gave it some layers and definition and did a balayage. Mixed a shade of brown with a shade of burgundy. So there’s a slight red-ish undertone. He called it Cherry Cola. #InLove <3.

Now, on to the hairstyles…

The messy-chic knot

I feel bad for even calling this a hairstyle because it’s so simple.

  1. Pick and twist two sections from either side of your head all the way to the back
  2. Tie both sections into a double knot as you would with your shoe lace
  3. Secure it with a bobby pin if need be

And that is literally it. Still looks so put together for some reason. I’m sure the perfectly curled hair helps but try it on second day curled hair. Could work wonders. Or if you have naturally gorgeous locks. (:

Perfectly imperfect

Just the right amount of “I put in the effort” without seeming like you tried too hard. Because let’s be honest, this hairstyle is easy af!

  1. Loosely pick bits from the around your forehead
  2. Attempt to make a half up messy bun
  3. Bobby pin it up leaving a generous number of stands out

And voila!

Let me know what you think. Do you love the colour, which hairstyle did you prefer and do you have any 5 second hairstyles of your own that you’d like to share! Leave it all in the comments below ❤ .

My Birthday Blog !

Hello fleekies!

If you’re interested in what I did on the anniversary of being expelled from my mother’s uterus, then keep reading (:

I’ve always been a fan of chill, relaxing birthdays. So this year, my mum booked me a room at the Taj Mahal Palace hotel. Checked in on the 19th around tea time so we would be in time for the tour of the hotel – its history, the people etc. Turned out the tour had been pre-poned and had just started when we got there.

If you’re interested in the tour, try and check in by 2:30 so you can go for the tour at 3:30. Anyway… my room was filled with these heart balloons – borderline honeymoon vibes but oh well! Had tea with the mum ( and by tea, I mean juice, nuggets and fries) before she took off.

Check me out! In my evening gown and what not 😛

Hahahaha… In case it wasn’t obvious, went for a swim in the evening. Shanice really wished we had gowns to take pictures with on the staircase. So… Here I am, posing in my gown. 😀

Then showered and went out.
Fun fact:
The shower at the Taj has the temperature on the knob. So you can adjust the heat accordingly :O :O :O I was blown away!

Also… totally in love with my birthday OOTD. I’m always the happiest in shorts. These are my Forever 21 ones that I got on sale for INR 450!

MANDATORY MINI PHOTO SESH, OF COURSE!

story_1553451488552

Pizza! Because like it says, we’re a pizza generation.
And totes proud of it.

Nipped around the corner for some drinks at Bar Stock Exchange. Thank you to all those who came ❤ Lots of love.

PSX_20190324_235344

Then got back to some Netflix but no chilling, lol. Riverdale tho ❤ ❤ ❤ !
And 3:00am room service has got to be the best thing of life. Agree?

But not before my sister from another mister, Shanice put together this #InstaWorthy setup. Girl! I F*CKING LOVE YOU!

SPONTANEOUS 3:00 AM PHOTO SHOOT, LOVE IT!

And then we passed out……….

20 / 03 / 2019 9:30 am

Birthday bath time. #Blessed
I know… the honeymoon vibes again. But as for now, this is the closest I’m going to get to anything romantic. (:

story_1553449766516

I love my photos to show that I’m super healthy. Mostly because fruit is so photogenic, lol. But besides this, I had coffee, pineapple and orange juice and a cheese and mushroom omelette.

What do you love for breakfast?

DIY Halloween Costume Ideas!

Boo! ☠

It’s that time of year again and I couldn’t be happier! That time where in we train ourselves to think it’s cold enough for long sleeves, turtle necks and fuzzy socks but in reality we have to stick to shorts and tees. That time where we finally know what to do with the maple leave garlands that aunty bought from Canada! And that time when we wait for Starbucks to bring out the Pumpkin Spice Latte because nothing else about Mumbai is anywhere near FALL or Halloween!

I think it’s high time we change what’s the norm and do what we want! What I want is Trick-or-Treating all over , everywhere! But in reality I’m for one TOO OLD and secondly this idea is a crime just waiting to happen! But we can still have dress up parties with friends, family, your dog, your cat, yourself! Who cares? As long as your Instagram is On Fleek 👻. Right???

So here are a couple of outfit ideas that I’ve come up with. Let me know which one is your favourite in the comment section! Nothing too OTT. Their both subtle enough, yet super cool! If I may say so myself.

 1. Maleficent!

The only major parts of the outfit were the horns and her staff.

For the horns all you need to do is:

  • Mould the horn shape with aluminium foil. Make sure both your horns look about the same shape and size.
  • Cover them with tissue paper dipped in water and glue (fevicol). Aka. Paper mashe around both horns.
  • Paint them in a dark dirty, almost black brown colour.
  • Lastly, attach them to either a headband or some barrettes with black electrical tape.

For her staff, all you need to do is:

  • Paint a wooden dowel black.
  • Stick on a Christmas bauble to the tip of it with some hot glue. I went for a golden bauble.
  • Partially cover the bauble with some leaves painted black.
  • For added detail, you can replicate vines with a hot glue gun.

I know this may seem a bit time consuming, but if you have the time. It’s a great costume idea! And with everyone being Harley Quinn this year, you’ll definitely stand out! 😉

Pair the props with a black dress and you’re good to go!

                             _________________________________________________________________

2. A Prisoner

This is a total last minute costume idea. You can practically throw this together on the 31st itself!

All you need is a black and white striped tee and some black pants. If you have black and white striped pants too, then all the better.  But I didn’t.

For the props:

  1. A chef hat
  2. A laundry bag (optional)
  3. A black mask (optional)

All you need to do to the chef hat is paint stripes on it. My cap was black, so I painted white stripes.

To the laundry bag, draw/ paint on a dollar sign and carry it around. So it looks as though you’ve robbed a bank.

If you have a black eye mask, it would be perfect. I didn’t have one, so I decided to go down the bruised route. With some black and blue eyeshadow , I bruised up my under eye area.
And tada! Those were my two last minute costume ideas!

Hope you like them.

And have a SPOOKtacular Halloween 👻💀☠🎃

Xoxo ❣

Jamie’s Pizzeria Review & OOTN!

Hello gorgeous ❤️!

Long before I even thought of starting a blog, I used to eat way too much outside food!  So I began Zomato reviewing and I love it! I enjoying telling you guys and people in general about how much I love / hate a place, dish or service that I thought it’s high time I do a proper blog post review!

img_0209-bw

Jamie’s Pizzeria by Jamie Oliver! I’ve been watching Jamie’s TV shows for years! Now I watch his YouTube channels – FOOD TUBE and Drinks TUBE. So I thought it would only be fair if this was the first place I reviewed on my blog. I plan on doing many more restaurant reviews so I hope you like it ☺️☺️☺️.

img_0196-bw

I completed a month at my new job, so to celebrate André took me out to dinner. I kind of chose where I wanted to go and wouldn’t budge from Jamie’s. But, OH WELL❣Still a fabulous night.

They’ve stayed true to the one pizza per person concept they have abroad which i think is great. As I’m not the biggest sharer! 😝 But I do share with André. We started off with the classic – Pepperoni pizza! You really can’t go wrong with it.  The crust was just the right amount of thin and the pizza was just the right amount of greesy! Yes. The cheese stretched as i bit into it. If you couldn’t tell already- I LOVED IT!

img_0200

We loved it so mcuh we ordered another. The Spicy Meatball pizza. Not going to lie, it wasn’t nearly as good as the first one. Number one it was so spicy I wouldn’t be surprised if i had gotten ulcers the next day! Besides that, I can’t quite put a finger on what exactly was the problem with it. Theoretically the pizza was perfect, but it lacked that WOW factor (if you get what I mean). I just wouldn’t be missing out on anything if I didn’t have this one.

img_0206

The place isn’t the biggest and surprisingly the menu has way too many veg options! But never the less, I’m glad I visited and I would love to come again! Especially for some more Pepperoni Pizza and to try out their Margherita!!!

What really stood out and obviously it was supposed to was the mural on the wall. It’s a painting of some of the iconic things in Mumbai! It caught my eye within seconds. And the bright colours against the concrete wall was just 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻!

Now on to my Outfit Of The Night a.k.a My OOTN!

(Top: Zara | Jeans: Vietnam | Shoes: Vietnam | Bag: Forever 21)

For any of you who are thinking, “Why would you dress up so casually on DATE NIGHT?!” Well my answer to that is, Why the hell not? Wear what you’re comfortable in. Wear what makes you happy. Ripped jeans are one of my favourite clothing items and so are comfy tees. So own what you love! May sound very cliché, but it’s true! 🙃

And always remember: You don’t have to be society’s definition of perfect to be ON FLEEK! You just need to be the best version of YOU❣

XOXO ❤️❤️❤️

MAY Favourites (in beauty)

Hello everybody 💕.

We’ve finally gotten through the hottest month of them all, MAY!!! Aren’t you happy about that? I know I am. It’s so funny because , it’s so true what they say… “The grass is always greener on the other side.” We wait for summer to wear our cute outfits, sandals and hats. But then (especially here in Mumbai) the heat starts to get unbearable and all we want is for it to rain. Or is that just me? Anyway… Looks like that won’t be happening for another couple months or so. Getting to the point – Here are a few beauty products and perfumes / body mists I’ve been absolutely in love with this summer!

The first and my absolute favourite is this peel off mask that I bought when I went to Vietnam. Not going to lie, I was very hesitant about using it at first. I tested it on my hand and only after I found that it was safe did I use it on my face. Hahahha…. Don’t worry I’m not usually this fussy, it’s only because this product was extremely cheap. It was about 60 INR. YEP! I KNOW RIDICULOUS !!! But genuinely…. It’s one of the best Peel Off Masks I’ve ever used.

  • It smells heavenly. It has that strong citrus scent which is extremely appealing. Heck! I could just sniff it all day!
  • It has a nice strong grip, so when you peel it off it really gets all that gunk out of your face and neck, leaving your skin super soft and very visibly clean.
  • The only downside is I have no idea of where you can get it from besides Vietnam’s supermarkets. However, I will check some sites online and let you know if I do end up finding the product.

This next product was actually a birthday gift from a friend of mine and I absolutely love it! It’s the Victoria’s Secret PASSION STRUCK in the Fuji Apple and Vanilla Orchid scent. It smells just like the description says – very fruity, fresh and summery with a hint of a floral scent. It’s perfect travel size too, so great to pop into any handbag when you’re on-the-go.

These are my current favourites in makeup. I am completely aware that I’m no expert in this sector , but I am really loving these products and would like to share them with you.

  • Let’s start off with the INVEDA BB Cream. It reads, ” 8 in 1 Cream with Magnolia & Almond. SPF 20. Fair Colour. For All Skin Types. ” So it does have a light coverage for any blemishes, spots or lines plus it has SPF which is perfect for the summer time. While keeping your face looking flawless and spot free it also protects you from the sun. Also this is the kind of product wherein a little bit goes a long way. If you end up using too much your face will start to feel like it’s just been smothered with moisturiser which is never a good feeling on a hot day. I use it by itself in the day time but as a primer if I have an evening function or event.
  • Let’s move on to the MAYBELLINE NEW YORK Concealer. Great coverage and very easy to blend which is the most important thing in any makeup product. They have quite a wide range of shades to choose from as well so it’s very unlikely that there won’t be one that matches your skin tone perfectly. Also, it’s extremely reasonable price wise compared to some of the other brands and it does work just as well.
  • Lastly, the MAYBELLINE NEW YORK Clear Glow ALL IN ONE SHINE FREE CAKE POWDER. It does have an SPF OF 32 which is always a bonus. It says on the packaging that it lasts for 8 hours, but I haven’t worn it even close to that amount of time to let you know if it’s true. Doesn’t make your face look cakey for sure and if you’re one with oily skin like me you should give this a try.

I’ve saved the best of all for last. My boyfriend gave this to me for my birthday and I’m in love. It’s the ZARA WOMAN GOLD. I’m already the biggest Zara fan and this perfume doesn’t only look gorgeous but smells heavenly too. The packaging itself looks so elegant, classy and rich. This is a gift any woman/ girl would be delighted to receive. I know I was. It has a bit of a mature scent , not the kind that you would picture your grandmother with but , the kind a sexy flawless lady with pointy heels, a white buttoned down shirt and a black pencil skirt would be caught wearing. What can I say? It smells just like it looks – Classy, Elegant & Rich.

So these were all the products I’ve been loving this month and am now using extremely sparingly as I don’t want to run out. I’m curious to know what are some of your recent favourites? Let me know in the comments so I can get a hold of them and enjoy them too 😃. Follow me to stay updated of when I upload new posts. Love you!

VIETNAM: Hochiminh City

Hey guys!

I’m finally back after a good two months. I recently went to Vietnam then got back and had my board exams. I’m done now at last and I cant wait to get back into the blog posting mood! And an insane trip to Vietnam just means super amazing blogs in the coming weeks! I’m so excited to tell you guys about my trip and I hope you enjoy reading it as well 😀

Ho-chi-minh City (the capital of Vietnam) was our first stop. At a first glance, that is the second I stepped out of the airport it gave me the Mumbai Vibe for some reason. That quickly changed the minute we got into the car and started moving. It’s a massive city with a population of 10 million, but I doubt you’re interested in the facts! The roads are incredibly wide and the streets are spotlessly clean! As for the weather – hot, but very bearable (I mean at least for those of us from Mumbai). Now that I’ve covered the basic details, let’s get into the fun stuff!

We had a personal tour guide which was quite necessary as almost NO ONE speaks English! Our tour guide was one hilarious lady! Very sweet as were all the Vietnamese people we came in contact with, but she was so crazy! By the end of our trip we got pretty annoyed with her! Hahaha…

On to the sightseeing :

We visited the Ben Thanh Market which is the main market in China Town. It’s  full of street vendors selling the local Vietnamese food, handicrafts and items for daily use. It’s a wholesale market so they don’t really cater to individual buyers. I did however buy myself a cap. In fact, it’s very much like our Crawford Market (an extremely clean version that is) .

9732e8b7-85d6-4f26-bed2-ac125dd0ff8b

We visited the Remnants Museum, which exhibits photographs,  machinery and weapons that depicts the harsh realities of the war. It was deeply moving reading the facts and kind of  in a way reliving their trials and suffering.

4f9044e9-7542-4598-8a4c-bcb5a5071b02f3c0a677-14e7-4d50-903e-e39f7ed5421e

Our visit to the Reunification Hall was honestly not the most exciting. Here, was where all their formal meetings were held, their private bedrooms and war rooms that are 10 meters underground. Pretty cool!

20165855-4a79-41c6-aef4-6f416b75c136
Underground Passage leading to the lake.

Some other sites that I wasn’t too intrigued by was the General Post Office,  The City Hall and the Opera House.

As for the shopping in Hochiminh it was very disappointing… Nothing like everyone says about Vietnam shopping , at least I didn’t think so – not in Hochiminh at least. And since this was the first place we came to I was getting a bit worried of not getting anything 😛 (Typical first world problems, I know) even though I don’t live in a first world country, LOL! One of the most high end shopping places in Vietnam is the Vincom Centre with a huge selection of some of the top international brands in clothes, electronics and accessories and of course a massive food court!

We left for Hanoi on Sunday afternoon after hearing mass at the Notre Dame Cathedral. The structure is gorgeous and the inside is equally impressive, mass was so lovely (it was in English) and we met the sweetest old lady outside the church selling statues and rosaries. She was just so full of love and happiness – truly an inspiration to us all. The perfect end to the first leg of our journey.

I hope you enjoyed this post, I know there’s a lot of names and places I’ve visited but I thought this would be super helpful if you’re planning a trip to Vietnam. I would definitely recommend it. Also do share this with friends, family or anyone who is planning a trip. I love you all and thanks for sticking till the end.

Favorite Five Festive Lip Products

Hey guys! Merry Christmas!!!

The day we’ve all been waiting for is finally here and if you’re anything like me you’re probably rocking that classic red lip to almost all your parties. I personally love a red lip all year round for any fancy occasion, but at Christmas time it just feels all the more exciting!

Here’s a rundown of five of my favorite Lip Products that I’ve been loving throughout this year!

  1.  LA Splash Cosmetics Liquid Lipstick in the shade Poison Apple. The colour is very rich and I feel like it doesn’t spread very well so you do need to use a lot of product. However that doesn’t bother me too much as it’s very long lasting and does not bleed.
  2. QUO Lip Gloss in the shade Dreamy Rêverie. This is a nude shade but the most amazing one! I love the applicator which is a really good quality brush. The gloss is opaque, super smooth and very easy to spread.

6

3. MAYBELLINE COLOURsensational– Fatal Red. This is my absolute favourite as you can probably tell because of the rounded top. Its that Taylor swift red which I absolutely am in love with! I’ve worn this too many times to even count and I’ve never experienced any bleeding.

14

4. MAYBELLINE Baby Lips– Berry Sherbet. This is my go to lip product if i want a slight colour but nothing too bold on a semi formal occasion. PLus its really moisturizing so that’s a bonus!

5. Lip Smacker– Red Velvet! This is literally my drug! There’s almost no colour but the scent is ridiculously good! It smells just like a Red Velvet Cupcake and to me it’s the best invention. I literally sit in my house putting it on for no reason.

3

I hope you enjoyed reading this post as much as I enjoyed writing it for you. Let me know which are your favorite lip products and whats your favorite lipstick shade!
