The Body Shop vs L’Oreal clay mask

Welcome back beauties ♥️

I’ve probably said this a million times before but this time I’m going to be regular with my posts. They may not have the best pictures or be the most aesthetically pleasing to look at. But they will be awesome!

Lately I’ve been into a lot of masks. Face masks. And I think the clay ones suit my skin type best. I have combination skin which if you don’t know what that is… It’s a combination of oily and dry skin. My T zone is really oily while the rest of my face is, well … Not. Lol!

Mean Girls reference: My pores are huge! Which means dust, dirt, everything settles on my face. So a good cleansing clay mask is just what I need on a weekly basis.

The Tea Tree Clay Mask

🌿♥️🌿

I think it’s working wonders because everytime I smother it on it gives me a tingling sensation in my pores.

I can almost feel it extracting the impurities. And if you’ve tried toothpaste on your skin at some point in your life you’ll know the feeling instantly. It’s like that.

Dries up in about 15-20 minutes but that also depends on how much you apply. Rinse it off with luke warm water I suggest and go to sleep. Maybe keep the pot in the fridge to extend it’s duration.

L’Oreal Clay Mask

😍😍😍

This one is up there with my favourites honestly only because it has charcoal in it. And I mean… You all know the craze behind that!

It does give the the tingling sensation in my skin as well and I do feel refreshed after. However, I have literally used this pot twice and when I reached for it the third time it wasn’t the same.

🤷. The consistency was off. Which means it didn’t have the same effect on my skin and I mean I was pretty upset.

Maybe it was because I didn’t refrigerate it, so it is chilling there now. But I mean this little thing ain’t cheap so for two applications. 😔😔😔

Let me know if you guys have tried any of these. Which do you like better and why. And if you have any amazing masks you’d like me to try!

XOXO ♥️

Wearable Winter Lookbook

Hey!

Thought I’d better get this done before we blink and it’s spring already! TBH this is pretty insane for me! I never thought I would actually be doing a winter lookbook! Like a winter-winter lookbook. I live in Mumbai and if you do too, you’d know what I mean (:

So if you’re thinking, this ain’t gonna be of any use to me! Wait… Most of the outfits are wearable here mostly because I took of my coat so I could snap away. #BloggerLife eh?

So without further ado, let’s get started!

🎅 Santa baby much? With the hat and all.

Might be a bit too early to start picking favorites but this is hands down my absolute fave! Replace the sweater with a tee and knock off the stockings and you’re good to strut down the streets of Mumbai 😊.

This gives me all the PLL feels ❤️!

Doesn’t matter what I’m wearing underneath because a classic red coat makes everything look c-u-t-e! And when you have a red beanie to match , it’s just the icing on the cake. Don’t you think?

Is it just me, or does this make you go, “Are we outta the woods yet….”

Jeans and a sweater. Classic 👌🏼. But TBH, the beanie is my favourite part of the outfit. Because that pom pom though.

Also the sweater, the first and possibly the last time I’m wearing it. It’s itchy af!

Look away they say. It’s more Tumblr they say.

Don’t know how I survived the day with just this on but I’m glad I did. Classy over cold!

Everything that I’m wearing in this picture is from India minus the scarf and the beanie. Which means everything that I’m wearing in this picture I wear in India – minus the scarf and the beanie. I think it’s super trendy and perfect for a shopping trip.

It’s the absolute worst when you get into a mall and have to carry your huge coat all over the place. #FirstWorldStruggles

I’m just happy I still got all ten toes with me!

Leather skirt from Forever 21, sweater from Chemistry. Apt for -28, apt for 28. The colder it is, just add stockings and boots to keep you warm. I think this outfit is perfect for a brunch or linner. What do you think? Where would you wear it to?

Let me know which was your favorite look and where would you wear it to. Share it with your friends from colder climates and comment if you would wear some of the looks here!

M U L L E D W I N E .

Yeah! It gets you in the Christmas spirit but you know what, if it tastes good you wouldn’t mind having it all year round. Eh?

So excuse the fact that this is straight off my Insta Story but hey! The wine turned out fabulous and I think you’re gonna enjoy going through this.

  • 2 Cinnamon Sticks
  • 8 Cloves
  • 4 Star Anise ( I used 3 but it still turned out delish!)

By the way, all the ingredients shown are for two bottles of wine.

So sorry you have to look at my attempt at Orange and lemon art. Like that’s even a thing! And this is important – I only ended up using one orange because of how huge they are!

1/4 cup

Also 1/4 cup.

The best part is that all you do is combine all your ingredients and wait for it to simmer. Note – not boil cause you don’t want to get rid of that alcohol now, do you?

And TA-DA!

Hope you enjoy your mulled wine. Send me pictures if you end up making it and let me know how yours turns out! ❤️

If it’s Insta-Worthy, I’ll eat!

Hello 🌻

This officially the hottest it’s ever been. Also one hundred percent sure I’ll say the same thing next year, but OMG! Sorry, this was just an unrelated pointless ramble. Nobody ever talks about the weather anymore. Jeez!

Have you really eaten something if you haven’t Insta-Storied it? Do you even feel hungry when you have enough cute pictures that match your theme? And is the aesthetic more important than the actual food itself?

That last one might be pushing it a bit too far. Here are some of my favorite places Insta wise as well as some of my favorite places to actually eat at. Even when I don’t need to update my feed. That’s saying alot now!

Breakfast at The Sassy Spoon!
The Kitchen Garden by Suzette
Bombay Salad Co.

Hope you liked this post. If you did make sure to like it, and follow me to be updated anytime I upload something new.
Also feel free to suggest in the comments what kinds of post you’ll would like me to do.

DIY Halloween Costume Ideas!

Boo! ☠

It’s that time of year again and I couldn’t be happier! That time where in we train ourselves to think it’s cold enough for long sleeves, turtle necks and fuzzy socks but in reality we have to stick to shorts and tees. That time where we finally know what to do with the maple leave garlands that aunty bought from Canada! And that time when we wait for Starbucks to bring out the Pumpkin Spice Latte because nothing else about Mumbai is anywhere near FALL or Halloween!

I think it’s high time we change what’s the norm and do what we want! What I want is Trick-or-Treating all over , everywhere! But in reality I’m for one TOO OLD and secondly this idea is a crime just waiting to happen! But we can still have dress up parties with friends, family, your dog, your cat, yourself! Who cares? As long as your Instagram is On Fleek 👻. Right???

So here are a couple of outfit ideas that I’ve come up with. Let me know which one is your favourite in the comment section! Nothing too OTT. Their both subtle enough, yet super cool! If I may say so myself.

 1. Maleficent!

The only major parts of the outfit were the horns and her staff.

For the horns all you need to do is:

  • Mould the horn shape with aluminium foil. Make sure both your horns look about the same shape and size.
  • Cover them with tissue paper dipped in water and glue (fevicol). Aka. Paper mashe around both horns.
  • Paint them in a dark dirty, almost black brown colour.
  • Lastly, attach them to either a headband or some barrettes with black electrical tape.

For her staff, all you need to do is:

  • Paint a wooden dowel black.
  • Stick on a Christmas bauble to the tip of it with some hot glue. I went for a golden bauble.
  • Partially cover the bauble with some leaves painted black.
  • For added detail, you can replicate vines with a hot glue gun.

I know this may seem a bit time consuming, but if you have the time. It’s a great costume idea! And with everyone being Harley Quinn this year, you’ll definitely stand out! 😉

Pair the props with a black dress and you’re good to go!

                             _________________________________________________________________

2. A Prisoner

This is a total last minute costume idea. You can practically throw this together on the 31st itself!

All you need is a black and white striped tee and some black pants. If you have black and white striped pants too, then all the better.  But I didn’t.

For the props:

  1. A chef hat
  2. A laundry bag (optional)
  3. A black mask (optional)

All you need to do to the chef hat is paint stripes on it. My cap was black, so I painted white stripes.

To the laundry bag, draw/ paint on a dollar sign and carry it around. So it looks as though you’ve robbed a bank.

If you have a black eye mask, it would be perfect. I didn’t have one, so I decided to go down the bruised route. With some black and blue eyeshadow , I bruised up my under eye area.
And tada! Those were my two last minute costume ideas!

Hope you like them.

And have a SPOOKtacular Halloween 👻💀☠🎃

Jamie’s Pizzeria Review & OOTN!

Hello gorgeous ❤️!

Long before I even thought of starting a blog, I used to eat way too much outside food!  So I began Zomato reviewing and I love it! I enjoying telling you guys and people in general about how much I love / hate a place, dish or service that I thought it’s high time I do a proper blog post review!

img_0209-bw

Jamie’s Pizzeria by Jamie Oliver! I’ve been watching Jamie’s TV shows for years! Now I watch his YouTube channels – FOOD TUBE and Drinks TUBE. So I thought it would only be fair if this was the first place I reviewed on my blog. I plan on doing many more restaurant reviews so I hope you like it ☺️☺️☺️.

img_0196-bw

I completed a month at my new job, so to celebrate André took me out to dinner. I kind of chose where I wanted to go and wouldn’t budge from Jamie’s. But, OH WELL❣Still a fabulous night.

They’ve stayed true to the one pizza per person concept they have abroad which i think is great. As I’m not the biggest sharer! 😝 But I do share with André. We started off with the classic – Pepperoni pizza! You really can’t go wrong with it.  The crust was just the right amount of thin and the pizza was just the right amount of greesy! Yes. The cheese stretched as i bit into it. If you couldn’t tell already- I LOVED IT!

img_0200

We loved it so mcuh we ordered another. The Spicy Meatball pizza. Not going to lie, it wasn’t nearly as good as the first one. Number one it was so spicy I wouldn’t be surprised if i had gotten ulcers the next day! Besides that, I can’t quite put a finger on what exactly was the problem with it. Theoretically the pizza was perfect, but it lacked that WOW factor (if you get what I mean). I just wouldn’t be missing out on anything if I didn’t have this one.

img_0206

The place isn’t the biggest and surprisingly the menu has way too many veg options! But never the less, I’m glad I visited and I would love to come again! Especially for some more Pepperoni Pizza and to try out their Margherita!!!

What really stood out and obviously it was supposed to was the mural on the wall. It’s a painting of some of the iconic things in Mumbai! It caught my eye within seconds. And the bright colours against the concrete wall was just 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻!

Now on to my Outfit Of The Night a.k.a My OOTN!

(Top: Zara | Jeans: Vietnam | Shoes: Vietnam | Bag: Forever 21)

For any of you who are thinking, “Why would you dress up so casually on DATE NIGHT?!” Well my answer to that is, Why the hell not? Wear what you’re comfortable in. Wear what makes you happy. Ripped jeans are one of my favourite clothing items and so are comfy tees. So own what you love! May sound very cliché, but it’s true! 🙃

And always remember: You don’t have to be society’s definition of perfect to be ON FLEEK! You just need to be the best version of YOU❣

XOXO ❤️❤️❤️

THE WEIRDEST FOODS I’VE TRIED 😬 !

Hello friends!

I really wish we had a wider variety of meats to choose from here in India. Oh Well! Vietnam wouldn’t have been much of an experience (food wise) if we did.

I’ve always fancied the idea of trying new and exotic types of meat, but when the time actually came to do so, it was so much harder than I imagined. These are a few of the weirdest foods I never thought I’d get the chance to try ever!

PIGEON

(Apologies for not having a picture of this one for some reason. I can assure you though – it looked disturbing. It came with the whole head and everything attached!)

Now this one doesn’t fall under the absolutely ridiculous category, but it is kinda weird … I mean if anyone ever tried eating a pigeon here in Mumbai they’d definitely die of food poisoning! It’s the norm in Vietnam to eat practically everything that lives. So in the hotel we stayed at, one of the dishes on the menu was pigeon. It tasted like a much more tender chicken with a lot less flesh.

SNAILS!

unnamed (3)unnamed (4)

Urghhh! Not going to lie, this one was pretty hard to try. We got given snails twice during our stay. The first time was snail mince mixed with pork mince – that wasn’t too intimidating. The second time however was just plain boiled snails. You have to poke the flesh and pull it out of the shell, dip it in this ‘to die for’ sauce and eat it. I managed to digest one and that too with great difficulty. It wasn’t at all because it was yucky and didn’t taste good, it tasted brilliant in fact quite like squid. It was just the mental tension of it being a snail and my mind envisioning it crawling in my mouth that didn’t allow me to have any more.

CRICKETS!

unnamed

OMG!!! Definitely the craziest of all! Surprisingly, even though it happened to be the creepiest looking dish – it was the tastiest. Took a while for me to down the first few, but after that I was popping them like pop corn. They were fried nice and crispy with the most yummy seasoning. Couldn’t feel the tentacles or anything as you would imagine. The best way to describe what it was like is eating shrimp with the shell on. But not as hard and crunchy. I hate eating the shrimp with the shell on but this is a lot less hard and a great movie snack in fact. Maybe as crunchy as popcorn but a very different flavour. Overall, this was a delightful dish.

Id like to end by saying, try new things, get out of your comfort zone and I’m not just talking food wise. Take risks, find great adventures because if you don’t you’re not living. You’re merely existing.

Hope you liked this post. Don’t forget to like, comment, follow (scroll to the bottom to do so) and share. I love you all lots!
