Morning, afternoon, evening Fleekies! (Depends on when you’re reading this)
Hope you’re enjoying the ridiculously hot weather (: I know I am! Because with the heat I end up waking up earlier which in turn leads me to getting more done and feeling a lot happier.
Speaking of happy, there’s this new cool jewelry / accessory brand called THE HAPPY TRIBE. I personally love it because every piece is hand crafted. Every stone, every wire and each chain is personally handpicked to create these gorgeous pieces. Which means no two pieces will be the same. Ever.
Here are some of my favourites from her collection.
If you’re interested and want to get in touch with her, check out Instagram of course – the most millennial destination to ever exist! There’s a lot more stuff you’ll love ❤ . Also, you know the drill… To keep getting her products on your feed follow @happytribee . Because what can make you happier that fashion? Let me know if you know the answer to that. Really, please do.
I started The Happy Tribe purely because of the joy it brought me. I try and keep my designs just like every one of my customers – unique, beautiful, imperfectly perfect. Right from inception, The Happy Tribe has given me unimaginable opportunities, memories and so much to look forward to.
Hope you had a wonderful 2018, as did I. To kick start the new year (well I say new year, lol! It’s already the 16th) I thought it would only be right to show you some of the outfits I brought with me on my trip to Goa. Wow! That sentence was a mouthful, oh well!
Hope you like these tropical / beachy / summer ready OOTDs. Let me know which is your favourite too in the comment section.
Day time looks
Felt it would only be right to start off with the outfit on the cover. This bathing suit – shorts – flip flop combo is my absolute fave. And a staple for any tropical vacation.
Got this swimsuit from SheIn – super affordable and looks bomb, eh? If I’m going to be honest, this was a size Small and was still quite big for me. Especially on the boobage area ):
So if you have small boobs like me, please size down! Looks great in pictures though and makes sure I keep my back straight, haahhaa…
First off, please excuse my terrible editing job on this picture. Now that we got that out of the way, let’s continue…
This is one of those throw on and look pretty kinda looks, don’t you think? Same shorts. Same day. Same swimsuit underneath but denim has a way of not looking repetitive. So throw on a cute top and you’re as good as new.
I got this top from Bluenotes Canada but any cute casual top will work.
You will soon find out that I have an obsession with blue. Start counting the number of blue looks now onward, please. We’re at number 2.
Nevertheless, I love this top. Just the right amount of pretty to make it look like I put effort into this outfit without being too over the top for a walk to have coconut water.
Wish I could link it but I got this ages ago from Chemistry.
Blue top number 3. And hey! Give me a like just because I have a different pair of shorts on here. Bet you weren’t expecting that, were you? (:
Also I think this is one the the cheapest looks. Shorts for $5 from Bluenotes Canada and top for Rs. 300 from Forever 21.
Outfit under $10 boys and girls!
Let’s now move on to the night time looks. And keeping that blue count on!
Number 4. Yes, this dress is blue if the colours aren’t too clear. In my defense, blue is probably the best colour to wear on vacation.
It’s calming, soothing and the colour of the ocean.
Also looking at these pictures now, I look kind of pregnant. Hahahaha… Probably the dress but mostly all the food I’ve been eating on this trip. Let me know if you would like to see a blog post on some of my favourite places to eat at Goa!
Oh look! Black clothes! Hehehehe… Which one do you like more?
The black dress is like my uniform! I wear it literally all the time and everywhere! So easy to dress up and dress down. Got it for I think Rs. 800 or 900 from Forever 21. Best purchase I tell you.
The Bohemian esq top is from a girl in Malad who sells clothes from her home so I don’t know how to share her details with you ): But she also supplies to brands and boutiques. And I believe she had this top for Global Desi. So if you’re into this style, check them out.
My travel back home outfit, of course.
Simple, comf, cute. Once I let my hair down that is (: Top: Basic tee from Zara Tights: Victoria Sport
And that’s the end of all the outfits I wore on my Goa trip. Let me know which outfit was your fave and which one you hated.
No I wasn’t trying to sound like your grandpa! I was trying to be cool. Anyway… I should stop. I’m only going to embarrass myself further.
I probably shouldn’t be picking favourites but OMG! THIS IS MY FAVOURITE! I love the white with the navy, with the denim and the tan leather shoes. #LIVIN Also not too sure if ponchos are in, but I’m diggin’ this one!
And I think we can all agree this is not going to take more than 1.5 minutes to throw on!
Outfit No. 2:
Bright, multi-coloured, and so much happening dress! Because it’s all you need to throw on and you’re ready to strut out the door. Don’t forget your shoes though!
I’m a huge fan of dresses in the summer time. Their light, their breezy and even though it’s the easiest thing you could ever wear, it looks like you’ve put in quite the effort. Also! Get yourself some tan leather / faux leather shoes – they are literally the best!
Outfit No. 3:
Surprise! Surprise! Another dress. For those of you who know me, this is literally my uniform! It doesn’t need ironing and it has sleeves so if your underarms are pokey you’re covered girl! Sorry if that was a bit TMI for you. Also it’s cotton and perfect for summer. I love paring it with bright and fun sneakers for a pop of colour!
Hahahaha… Bottom line of this blog post – STOCK UP ON DRESSES! Or shorts and loose, flowey… flowy flow-ey (clearly I don’t know the spelling) tops.
More importantly tell me what kind of outfits you’re going to slay this summer!
Welcome! Or welcome back 😀 I think this one is hands down one of my favourite posts. Firstly, I absolutely love Fashion! Also, I not only got to do a freaking low key shoot but I’m super excited for you’ll to see how I’ve styled my favourite pair of jeans! Good Times Guys! Good Times!
I’m totally aware that to some of you the jeans might me a bit too OUT THERE, but then again, you’re not going to actually be wearing the same pair of jeans. This is just for some Style Inspo and hopefully will get you out of a fix on, ‘What can I wear with this?’.
OUTFIT 1: Comfy Casual!
(Top: Zara; Jeans: Zara (over 3 years old); Bag: Vietnam; Shoes: Vietnam)
This first outfit is my everyday GO-TO look. I don’t know about you, but I love the huge rips in the jeans. Yes, the ‘Hobo Chic Look’. Now in all honesty this pair of jeans can be paired with practically any top but a plain white Tee and Blue denim is just my favourite combination!
Tip: If your top is a wee bit too long and you’re just not happy with the look, try tucking in a small portion of it. It makes all the difference!
This is a perfect look in the summer as well if for some reason you can’t wear shorts (you know the struggle of having to wax for shorts girls!). The jeans keep you super breezy and cool, but still cover the most part of your legs that you intend to keep hidden.
OUTFIT 2: Sunday Brunch!
(Top: Forever 21)
This next look has instantly taken a girly turn but still very true to Street Style. All I’ve done is switched out the basic tee to a very feminine top and it instantly changes the occasion I would wear it to. I think it would be perfect for a Sunday Brunch which is why – The Title! LOL. Of course, that’s just my opinion. You could wear this anywhere you want to.
Tip: If you’re on-the-go and you need to change from a casual to a more dressy look, just change tops and accessories!
I threw on some glittery ballerinas and a floppy hat and it’s now so girly-esk! Loving this look. If you’re a heels kind of girl, this would look super cute in some tan or brown wedges!
This third and final outfit is (I would say) is a night time look. Ofcourse you don’t want to be carrying anything big and what more than your phone and money could you possibly need? So this phone case that doubles as a mini wallet is perfect. They didn’t have the same one I have so I linked something similar and in my opinion cuter!
Tip: To change any outfit from a daytime look to a nighttime one, all you got to do is throw in some black.
If its a tube top – even more apt for drinks out or even a house party. As for the shoes, as you can see I’ve just gone for some plain black basic ballerinas. But something that will instantly elevate the look a lot more are some nude pointy toe heels.
And that’s all for today. I tried to link all the items that I wore that were still available on the sites. Even though that’s only two, I think all the items are pretty basic and similar items can easily be found in case you want to purchase them.
A huge to Thank You to the best photographer I know, Andre Fernandes for the pictures and for all the madness that went into the shoot. And by madness I mean climbing up on construction poles to get that top shot! You’re an absolute delight to work with.
I hope you liked the post 🙂 Make sure to LIKE, FOLLOW, SHARE and COMMENT. Also let me know which of the three outfits was your fav, I’m dying to know. Love you all lots!!!
This is something completely different, well it is fashion related (I guess). But it’s an observational post. I love going shopping whether it’s actually to buy something (which is preferable) or even if it’s just to browse. I’ve observed different people and their behaviour. So I thought it would be fun to do a blog post on it. Let me know in the comments what type of a shopper are you? Even if you’re not one from the list ☺️.
Now we all know July – August is THE month for sales. Everywhere you look is a 50-70% Off sign. And me being the clothing addict that I am has to go check them out. There’s no place I’d rather spend my time at than – THE MALL. I joke that it’s my natural habitat. But we all know that it isn’t much of a joke. If there’s any place I’ve observed a lot at its here. There are so many different kinds of shoppers. Some of the most common ones are… 1. The “trend setters” they’ll never buy clothing, shoes or accessories on sale. Only because they don’t ever want to be caught dead in something that’s last season.
2. The “window shopper” and let’s be real – we all come under this category a lot of the times! Those who love to check out what’s in stock. Those who know exactly what top is from where or what brand of shoes those are, but they never actually purchase the item.
3. The “blind shopper”. I hope to someday reach this level. They never ever look at the price tags! They never look to see if the item is on sale or if it’s amongst the new collection – they like it, they buy it.
4. The “pushy mum”. We all secretly wish our mums were like this, but not everyone is lucky enough! These are the super rich mums who love to spoil their kids rotten. Those who want to keep buying clothes, shoes, bags, socks you name it for their child. So much so that the child themself tells her they don’t need all that.
5. Then there’s the opposite kind of mum, the “think a hundred times before you buy” kind. Do they really need it? How long will they use it for? Is it worth the price? Will I get it somewhere else at a better rate? The questions go on. And the funniest part is they’ll calculate the price of the item and consider how long will they use it for. In this way, they’ll end up getting the exact amount for it per day. Ridiculous- I know! But you got to do what you got to do when you’re on a budget!
To be honest there are a ton more of these “Types of Shoppers” but I don’t want this post getting stretched out too much.
On to the ones we’re focusing on … “The SALE Shenanigans” those who don’t shop all year round just to save all their money to shop during the sales. These people or just a lot of people in general who pass by a store they would usually never enter, but if they read “upto 60% OFF” they’ll walk right in without a second thought. It’s mostly girls dragging their boyfriends into the stores and children dragging parents. But ofcourse wives taking their husbands and middle aged women by themselves, not to forget the minority of males too! I mean…. I’m just wondering wouldn’t you save a lot more money if you shopped when you actually needed something irrespective if there’s a sale or not? In that way you would only end up buying the item you actually need. Whereas during a sale everything seems so much cheaper so you end up buying the items having the best deals which very often isn’t what you need at all. Then a few months later you realise you haven’t bought what you went for and have to go back and buy that item at full price.
I guess that ending made it seem like I’m all against sales , but the truth is I’m one of those suckers who can’t help but shop during the sales. I don’t know about you but I hate that feeling of buying something full price and then a few weeks later the price goes down by half! It’s the most annoying thing ever. The other side to the coin is obviously why pay Rs. 3000/- when you can get it for Rs. 1500/- ??? Like everything, there’s always a positive, there’s always a negative. I just thoroughly enjoyed watching all the different kinds of shoppers and their spending habits. It was both hilarious and ofcourse a great blog topic to write about!
If you liked this post, be sure to let me know in the comments or by liking it. Do share it with anyone you know that is like one of the shoppers mentioned. I hope you can relate 😜 and chao for now.
