Gucci Bamboo On Fleek?

Heyyy!

Honestly, this is way too boujee for me. I mean… don’t get me wrong. I’m stoked to have it but I don’t think I can afford to keep buying it.

Would I if I could though? I still think not. But I might be being slightly too harsh. 🤷🏻‍♀️

The body wash literally smells like a perfume. The scent is extremely strong and beautiful I feel like I’m bathing in perfume. Slightly weird not going to lie. Especially because the scent isn’t one you associate with bath time , lol!

I use it on my face and it leaves my skin feeling lovely. Squeaky clean, fresh and soft. Normally I don’t ever use body wash on my face because my skin is extremely sensitive but I figured…. Gucci so why the hell not?!

Next step: use it as sparingly as possible because if anything, it looks good in your bath product collection

How to look expensive when you’re broke AF!

Heylo Fleekies,

Is that still a thing btw, to say ‘heylo’ ? Who knows, who cares. Now I don’t know about you but I’m almost always broke af. One day I won’t be (hopefully) but until then, here’s how to you know… FAKE IT TILL YOU MAKE IT, BRAG IT TILL YOU BAG IT, SHOW IT TILL YOU SCORE IT. LOOK IT THOUGHT IT ISN’T IT.

  1. Athleisure baby!

There’s literally no downside to this. You’ll be comf, cute and well… expensive (seem so anyway). Since every rich person ever is in with the trend. Less is more, not trying too hard is the new trying hard. If you know what I mean.

  1. Switch up basic

You can literally buy any plain basic tee and make it look chic / fashion forward by knotting it up and tucking it under. You could skip the tucking under part but I just feel it looks more classy. Then again… who am I really?

  1. French is fancy.

If you find a tee with a French quote on it, bag it. It could literally be INR 150, baggy as hell or ripped but since it says something with acutes and graves, it must be high fashion, right? Dress it up with a blazer and a neck piece. Or maybe a formal black skort and heels or mules!

  1. Steal every deal!

This is no news to look out for the best deals. But I would suggest getting really neutral, staple pieces. Like a pair of classic denim shorts. Or cute workout clothes that are normally extremely overpriced at Nike! ):

Honestly these could be 6000 bucks from French Connection, who would really know? I know because I have the 6000 FCUK ones too and their basically the same thing. But I get the whole wanting to splurge feeling. But this ain’t that blog post!

  1. Make sure you’re having one of them ‘ GOOD HAIR DAYS ‘

Wash it, curl it, straighten it, dry shampoo it – do what you gotta do because if your hair isn’t working your outfit won’t work. And well, if your hair is fab, you can pull off a brown paper bag!

Hope you found this useful. Let me know in the comments if you have any more tips and tricks on how to look expensive when you’re broke af!

My evening routine rn

Hey!

Welcome to my blog post on essentially what I do every evening. Well… Almost every evening. Of course there are days where I get home from work and just crash. Literally. Without showering, eating or even changing. And on the other spectrum days on which I’ll get so caught up on Instagram or a show on Netflix that I completely lose track of time and end up winding up at 3:00 am.

But on the average day, this is my evening / night routine. (:

BADMINTON

I’ve recently been obsessed with playing badminton. If you know me personally, you’ll know I’m the least athletic person to ever exist. Rather the least sporty person. Like I can do track but ask me to play any sport and I WILL GET HIT WITH THE BALL ON MY FACE. 💯 Badminton is the only sport I don’t completely suck at, hahahaha… Anyway so most days I’ll go play for a good three hours. From 7:30 – 10:30pm and it feels divine. It’s so important to have a workout in your daily routine not only to lose weight but just to keep you fit – physically as well as mentally. I for one, feel extremely positive, productive and energised after getting some cardio in.

SHOWER

Post my badminton sesh, I love taking a cool water shower. It’s the most refreshing thing of life. Especially in the Mumbai heat rn. If you don’t use a loofah so far, I suggest you start. It’s just a whole other level of clean. Your skin feels softer, you no more have white heads on your back and you end up using less product on yourself because of how the loofah lathers up. I’m currently living for this Soap & Glory shower gel. Super affordable, smells delicious and feels even better! But don’t even worry about a shower gel, use a loofah with regular soap and you’ll feel just as refreshed.

I also got these cute af bath sponges. Tbh, I haven’t used them in the shower yet but their the cutest things of life and I just had to have them in my life. Fun fact: I actually named the bath range for those sponges. And they will be coming out very soon after which, I’ll share more details with you guys.

PICK THE RIGHT JAMMIES!

Recently picked up these adorable PJs. So apt for summer with the pastels and the ridiculously cute prints. I mean… Look at those llamas and rainbows! I’m shook💕. Also the shorts were 100 bucks and the long pajamas were Rs. 150 from the street. Hill road if you’re interested.

The key to feeling great is looking great. Also I just feel like I’m my most productive when I look my best. 😊

NETFLIX

Once I’m all dressed for bed, I’ll serve myself food and watch some Netflix. This is on my list as of now :

  1. Riverdale
  2. Sabrina
  3. Queer Eye
  4. Dynasty
  5. Scorpion

Oooh! I’m probably extremely late to this party but I just got done with all seasons of Castle and I’m dead. I absolutely loved that show and after what? 8 seasons, I feel like I personally know Beckett and the team.

Anyway… I’ll fall asleep watching Netflix or shortly after. If I can’t, I’ll listen to one of the sleep playlists on Spotify and dose off.

Hope you liked this post. Like it if you did and follow me to stay updated on my life on fleek. Also let me know in the comments what you get up to on the daily in the evenings.

CYCLING ADVENTURES

Hello everyone!

And welcome to today’s blog post. Today is a bright sunny day as every other day here in Mumbai, lol. But if you’re looking for something to do over the weekend, or on a weekday… Rent a bike with your buddy and tour the streets. Preferably before 8:00am because you’d probably get a sun stroke and faint after that. But a little exercise first thing in the morning, I always find makes me feel a lot more active during the day.

Here’s some pictures from our cycle tour in Kumarakom, Kerala. Literally thought Shanice would give up after leaving the hotel property itself. But boy did she surprise me! We did a good two hours or so of cycling around the village from 7:00am to 9:40am. It was the best thing ever! The clean air, birds chirping, the gorgeous sceneries and the exercise of course.

PSX_20190421_224320

Got back to the hotel to this gorgeous breakfast. Classic eggs and baked beans. With fruit obviously because you know how I feel about photogenic foods 😉 hahahha… but no after those healthy two hours, I definitely needed some fruit in my system. And obviously coffee too. But then again, I always need coffee in my system and I’m sure you do too.

RISE BEYONCE PARFUM Review

Compliments of the season!

How was Christmas? What did you get? What were you upto? How much did you eat? Do you want a rundown of everything I got? Let me know everything in the comments section.

I just got the RISE BEYONCE Perfume from my boss for Christmas and I’m in love with it. Also the packaging is completely bare so I thought it would only be right to write a review. Of course there are tons of other reviews out there, but read mine ok! ;P

First off the packaging is on fleek! Love the gold and black box with the shimmer. Very sophisticated and Beyonce esc. The bottle is even more beautiful. Looks like something Beyonce herself would be caught spritzing.

As for the scent, when you first spray it, it’s quite harsh. Like all the notes rush to your senses all at once and you can’t figure out what it actually smells like. Lol! DW it settles down in a few seconds and it’s quite a fruity scent. I was honestly surprised, didn’t expect it to be fruity so I thought…

Something is probably wrong with my senses. I’m not cut out for reviewing perfumes.

So I Googled it and this is what I found,

The RISE BEYONCE PARFUM is a blend of apricot, Italian bergamot, iced basil Sorbet, Orchid, Freesia, Sambac Jasmine, autumn woods, cashmere, musk and vetiver notes.

Wohooo! I can be a perfume reviwer after all! A ton of people were saying the Iced Basil Sorbet and Orchid stood out most but I’m honestly glad it’s the Apricot for me.

After all, the same perfume does smell different on each person!

Click to shop
I’ve attached a shop able link to the perfume here in case you’re looking for a gift or just to spoil yourself .

Either way, have a great New Year!

Lots of love,

Wearable Winter Lookbook

Hey!

Thought I’d better get this done before we blink and it’s spring already! TBH this is pretty insane for me! I never thought I would actually be doing a winter lookbook! Like a winter-winter lookbook. I live in Mumbai and if you do too, you’d know what I mean (:

So if you’re thinking, this ain’t gonna be of any use to me! Wait… Most of the outfits are wearable here mostly because I took of my coat so I could snap away. #BloggerLife eh?

So without further ado, let’s get started!

🎅 Santa baby much? With the hat and all.

Might be a bit too early to start picking favorites but this is hands down my absolute fave! Replace the sweater with a tee and knock off the stockings and you’re good to strut down the streets of Mumbai 😊.

This gives me all the PLL feels ❤️!

Doesn’t matter what I’m wearing underneath because a classic red coat makes everything look c-u-t-e! And when you have a red beanie to match , it’s just the icing on the cake. Don’t you think?

Is it just me, or does this make you go, “Are we outta the woods yet….”

Jeans and a sweater. Classic 👌🏼. But TBH, the beanie is my favourite part of the outfit. Because that pom pom though.

Also the sweater, the first and possibly the last time I’m wearing it. It’s itchy af!

Look away they say. It’s more Tumblr they say.

Don’t know how I survived the day with just this on but I’m glad I did. Classy over cold!

Everything that I’m wearing in this picture is from India minus the scarf and the beanie. Which means everything that I’m wearing in this picture I wear in India – minus the scarf and the beanie. I think it’s super trendy and perfect for a shopping trip.

It’s the absolute worst when you get into a mall and have to carry your huge coat all over the place. #FirstWorldStruggles

I’m just happy I still got all ten toes with me!

Leather skirt from Forever 21, sweater from Chemistry. Apt for -28, apt for 28. The colder it is, just add stockings and boots to keep you warm. I think this outfit is perfect for a brunch or linner. What do you think? Where would you wear it to?

Let me know which was your favorite look and where would you wear it to. Share it with your friends from colder climates and comment if you would wear some of the looks here!

M U L L E D W I N E .

Yeah! It gets you in the Christmas spirit but you know what, if it tastes good you wouldn’t mind having it all year round. Eh?

So excuse the fact that this is straight off my Insta Story but hey! The wine turned out fabulous and I think you’re gonna enjoy going through this.

  • 2 Cinnamon Sticks
  • 8 Cloves
  • 4 Star Anise ( I used 3 but it still turned out delish!)

By the way, all the ingredients shown are for two bottles of wine.

So sorry you have to look at my attempt at Orange and lemon art. Like that’s even a thing! And this is important – I only ended up using one orange because of how huge they are!

1/4 cup

Also 1/4 cup.

The best part is that all you do is combine all your ingredients and wait for it to simmer. Note – not boil cause you don’t want to get rid of that alcohol now, do you?

And TA-DA!

Hope you enjoy your mulled wine. Send me pictures if you end up making it and let me know how yours turns out! ❤️

DELHI: My first holiday with BAE (and his family)

Hey guys 💙💙💙

I wish I had done this post sooner. In fact, I would’ve probably done this the minute I got back from holiday – If only I had a blog then. Oh Well! So here we are today throwing it back to all those emotions! 😃😟😡😍😝😱😎😴
You know… The fear of thinking about all the things that can go wrong on holiday, the anxiety that takes over you when you think about how you’ll be away from home with no way of getting back if you get into a fight and those little soft voices in the back of your head telling you, “things change after staying with a person” are reason enough to back away from a holiday with your boyfriend. Even more so your first one. But none of them could over power the excitement building up inside the second I got permission to go. None of those negative thoughts could win over the endless positive ones.

MY FIRST FREAKING HOLIDAY WITH MY BOYFRIEND!!!

I do have a diary in which I write about special times and of course this made the cut. So I thought it would be interesting to quote some of the things I wrote about the holiday as it was jotted down at the time.

Pre Trip… (Diary entry No. 1) 👜🕶✈️

” Aaaaaah! This has got to be the highlight of 2014! My dad agreed to send me to Delhi with Andre and his fam jam. My sweetheart boyfriend asked him for permission.

First he said he’ll think about it. The next morning  he came to my room and said I could go! Woot Woot!

We went by air, Andre and I sat together – OBVIOUSLY! Just the whole experience from going to his house, then to the airport, waiting for our flight… It was all so magical.

On air we were as in love as can be. I lay my head on his shoulder and he lay his head on mine. He also said, ” this reminds me on Spain”. Hahahahaha…. Eeeeeeep! Wish time could just stand still.

Anyway, for snacks we shared a Masala Chai and some chicken sandwich – not the best! We then fell asleep for the rest of the flight and only woke up just as we were about to land. So Romantic! I know.”

That concludes diary entry number 1. I think that pretty much sums up all the excitement perfectly. Yes, we did go to Spain together. It was for the World Youth Day. And that was before we started dating. If you don’t know what the World Youth Day is, it’s an event for young people organized every three (or sometimes, two) years by the Catholic Church. The next occasion, World Youth Day 2016, is currently being held in Kraków, Poland. World Youth Day was initiated by Saint Pope John Paul II in 1985.

In Delhi… (Diary entry No. 2) 🍽🏨💃🏻

” Our hotel car was waiting for us at the airport. We got in and off to our hotel. We stayed at the Crowne Plaza hotel in Okhla, New Delhi.

The hotel was so lovely. Totally wishing Andre and I were here alone. Hahahahaha… We got to our rooms, ate some lunch – Chicken Curry, Mutton Curry and Naans. Yumm! Freshened up and headed out to explore.

We went to an exhibition where in they sold artifacts, clothing, jewelry and food from the different states in India. I bought an embroidered Vest – Super pretty! The exhibition was so interesting with so many things to see that we ended up spending the rest of the evening there.

We ate some chicken and pork dumplings and had a fruit punch each. It was a half an hour drive to dinner. So we looked around some more, then headed to go get some grub!

Ended up at a Tibetan Restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious! My favourite was their Steamed Bread. I could literally eat it plain. It was that good! We had some of the best kulfi for dessert. Hmmm… Isn’t the quality of milk in Delhi so much  better than that in Mumbai?!

Then got back in the car and drove back to the hotel. Showered and jumped right into bed! EXHAUSTED!!! “

Day One DONE! Not a good thing, but everything ends. 😦 I haven’t written about every single day in detail, but I did do day number Two as it was our anniversary (well technically our Monthasary) but yeah…

The MONTHASARY… (Diary entry No. 3) 💏💖👫

” Breakfast at 9:00am. I got full only looking at the food laid out. Jokes! I ate a lot. But there was the works! A Japanese counter, Eggs however you like them, drinks of any kind, fruit and if that wasnt enough dumplings, fried rice, pastries and ofcourse Indian as well.

When we were done with breakfast, we came back to the room for a bit. Andre and I played with each other like little children – jumping up and down on the bed. As we all do in a hotel room! Definitely my cardio for the day! Hahahaha… God! I love him.  After our fun and games, we kicked off the sightseeing.

1. The Lotus Temple.

IMG_4666

2. Humayum’s Tomb.

Took a break for some lunch at Saravayana Bhavan, then went shopping to the Tibetan Market- Janpat. I bought myself a pair of Palazzo pants and some jewelry.

We drove through the Diplomatic Enclave which is where all the Embassy’s are. Pretty Darn Cool! Also visited the India Gate. It is so massive! Did not expect it to be that huge and incredibly beautiful too.

Then some dinner and back to the hotel! “

I hope you’re enjoying going down memory lane with me. If you are, let me know in the comments that you like it, and if you’re not let me know what kind of posts would you like to read about. But… Atleast the pictures are great, right? Here’s the final diary entry. ENJOY!

(Diary entry No. 4) 💻🍿💑

” The next few days had a lot of sightseeing in it. My favourite was visiting the Taj Mahal (totally original, I know). But that was just a great day! We took a ton of pictures and had a seven hour car ride back to the hotel!

The long car ride would’ve definitely been the bane of my entire existence as for one , I get motion sickness and two I just hate sitting in one small space for a long period of time. But it was night time and we were all super tired! Lucky for us Andre’s mum carried some blankets and pillows from the hotel, so we tucked ourselves in all nice and snug and slept the whole journey back.

Got back to the room and ofcourse … Now we were wide awake! So we ended up binge watching The Walking Dead. So much fun!!!! Eeeeeeeeeeeep!

Gosh, I love this boy!!!!

VIETNAM : Hanoi

Hello people! 🌞

I think this is one of my favourite places in Vietnam to write about. I’m the kind of girl who loves the city life. I like when buildings, shops, restaurants and other structures are close to one another. I like a city where you can take a walk down the street and meet a bunch of friends, a city where you don’t need to take a taxi, then a bus and a train to get to your desired location. I love how in some cities you can just walk out of your house and go straight to a friends place and knock on the door to see if they’re home – no formalities or phone calls to see if they’re free. I guess that’s the reason why I love living in Mumbai so much – it’s exactly that kind of city and so is HANOI!

img_3167img_3168

We arrived in Hanoi at about 5:30pm and it was chucking it down with rain. Jeez! Thankfully our tour guide brought us umbrellas and the car wasn’t too far away. It was probably a forty five minute drive from the airport to our hotel. We stayed at the Hanoi Delano hotel. I think the hotel was in the perfect location as all the shopping that you could ever imagine and MORE was right outside the door! From shoes to bags, clothing, stationary and cooking / baking items, not to forget restaurants and roadside eateries was all around the area. The lanes were narrow, short and well labelled which made it so easy to walk around the whole area. Well easy for the average human – I’m bad on another level with directions. 🙈

As for the sightseeing we visited the Hochiminh Complex which includes: Hochiminh Mausoleum, One pillar pagoda and the Ba dinh Square. We then went to the Temple of Literature – Vietnam’s first university established during the construction of the capital. We also went to the Museum of ethnology which was where we learnt about the diverse Vietnamese culture, beliefs and ethnic distributions. Hoan Kiem Lake and the Ngoc Son Temple which were both incredibly beautiful with such stunning architecture. Inspite of the fact that Vietnam is a developing country, everything and I mean every single temple, monument, natural feature, the roads and just every possible thing is so well maintained.
We did a private food tour where we got to experience the incredible Vietnamese Cuisine just like the locals do on the streets. We strolled through hidden alleyways and the bustling markets of Hanoi’s old quarter.

We visited the Bai Dinh Pagoda – the biggest pagoda in Vietnam with 500 La Han statues , biggest bronze Buddha statue in Vietnam that weighed a hundred tons. This place had a series of never ending steps, but because the weather was so lovely that day we made it! Ofcourse I was completely exhausted and starving after all that walking and climbing (it’s not on level ground). So you have to keep going higher and higher to see different things. I think there was a total of 600 steps to reach right to the top.

Anyway, what came after that made it all worthwhile! We had the most delicious and elaborate lunch where dishes just kept on coming . Like literally they wouldn’t stop. Just when we thought, “Wow! This is a lot!” some more food came. If you’re wondering… How could your dishes keep on coming like this? Wouldn’t you be in charge of ordering what you want? Well no. Because when we booked this particular tour company to show us around food was included. And they have set menus. Which was so nice because that meant, we didn’t have the stress of what to order, how much would be enough, what is each person in the mood for, etc etc. They gave us the best and we thoroughly enjoyed everything! Well…. Almost everything. 🙂

We then went on to visit the Trang An Scenic Landscape complex – more commonly known as Halong Bay on land which has recently been recognised as a World Natural Heritage of UNESCO. We got on a rowing boat and circled the river , looking at the mountains and the greenery all around. We went under caves some of the most famous ones being Sang Cave, Toi Cave, Ba Giot Cave and Nau Ruou Cave. The boat ride was so calming and relaxing. There were different shades of green everywhere we looked. The boat ride was for two hours which at first I thought would be too long! I thought I would get bored and restless after the first half hour itself. But there was just so much to see, I helped a tiny bit with rowing the boat and towards the end it was about to rain so we all put in our efforts to row the boat to shore before we got wet! We made it just in time. And I actually wished the ride was longer….

Now for the most exciting part of all (some may beg to differ) – SHOPPING!!! We went to Aeon mall Long Bien. We did quite a lot of shopping. Well Andre and his fam did atleast. I finished my money. Lol! There was amazing stuff nevertheless and I was extremely tempted. I did however get my birthday presents from the Fernandes’. They bought me a pair of high waisted dark blue jeans which are ripped at the knees, you know the kind that are ever so popular these days. I picked it out though :P. And André and I got a pair of matching sunglasses. So cool! Or cheesy…? Anyway, then was lunch and a big massive bowl of Swensen’s Icecream and by massive I mean a bowl of twelve scoops. HEAVENLY!!!

This was my favourite place in Vietnam. In fact, I love it so much I can think of myself moving there someday. The only problem is the language. But hey! We survived this trip and it’ll only get easier with time. Hahaha… Anyway, dreams aside, I hope you liked this post, let me know in the comments if you want me to do a Vietnam Shopping Haul which will include all that I bought from there and the places I bought them from. Thanks for sticking till the end. Love you all lots!
